Doudizhu is a card game played using playing cards that originated in Hubei Province, China. The game props are composed of 54 playing cards, including two Jokers, namely the colored big Joker and the black and white small Joker.
Doudizhu originated in Fang County, Shiyan, Hubei. It is said that a young man named Wu Xiuquan adapted it based on the popular local poker game “Run Fast”. Since Doudizhu appeared in parts of southern Anhui and Jiangsu in the early 1990s, , the Landlord Game quickly spread across the country and became popular on the Internet. The rules of the four-player Landlord Battle were summarized and finalized by Chinese chess king Hu Ronghua. Shanghai has used this set of rules to hold many televised mass competitions.
Doudizhu originated in the Hanyang area of Wuhan, Hubei Province. It was adapted by professional poker expert Yan Jun and his companions based on the popular local poker game “Run Fast”.
